Then enter the musicians and the MAGIC, FANTASTIC show begins. From the first tones you sink inside the atmosphere of the 70s, so that, but for camera image, one might consider listening REAL GENESIS!!!

Sounds the instrumental piece of In The Quiet Earth (Wind and Wuthering)
There’s a huge screen behind the drumkit, as large as approx. 3x3 metres. During the show there appear the photos of Tony Banks and other members of REAL Genesis.
Dying of impatience, I’m awaiting the next song, so that to hear (and see) the vocalist.

On 11th Earl Of Mar (Wind and Wuthering), appear a kind of a nourished man (Charles Dehue) and starts to sing, BRILLIANTLY.
The voice is different from Collins’, although there is some resemblance.

Theт sounds The Return Of The Giant Hogweed (Nursery Cryme). The screen displays a fragment of the Oxford Show (1972) of Genesis (I observed it was of excellent quality, unlike the one in my collection).
The singer performs Collins’ songs excellently, as well as Gabriel’s. The instrumental performance is splendid either. Everything is just wonderful!

Ooooooooooooooooo!!!!! There sounds Firth Of Fifth, the piano intro, just wonderful, the only difference in comparison to the original is the vocal work, and instead of the flute. What a powerful sound extracted the singer with a bass-pedal (Taurus-bass Pedal – a sort of a small keyboard instrument, placed on the floor and played with a foot). Even more cool than that of Genesis!

Dancing With The Moonlit Knight – it was quite a surprise the audience singing with the vocalist. Charlie awfully reminds Gabriel! The vocalist entered the stage dressed in a smart raincoat, helmed and with a trident! And what a tremendous mellotrone! By Jesus, this piece is performed better than by Genesis themselves!!!
The keyboard player (Ebert Zwart) is a highest-class virtuoso, with technical talent worthy of Tony Banks. All the time the screen displayed the video of real Genesis.

Now I hear my favorite Musical Box, the vocals are very close to Gabriel, and that is a special rejoice for me! The song’s intro is performed with three guitars (two acoustic and bass), the keyboards passage was done by the drummer (Remco Engels) with a synthesizer placed by the drumkit.
There were some inaccuracy (who’s irreproachable? – remember Genesis make a bungle of I Know What I Like on French TV in 73!).
The keyboardist is a very curious person, 2 meters high with incredibly long fingers, a virtuoso and obviously the spirit of the band.
Let’s return to The Musical Box. The closing part sounds, the drummer was outstanding – he played his part exactly (neither Bruford, nor Thompson, so as the band Re-Genesis could not replicate it).
The singer enters again in satirist’s mask (it like Gabriel’s, but not quite the same), and the magic coda starts.
At the same time Gabriel appears on the screen in an old man’s mask.
It’s a pity Charlie didn’t give the final “sexual” dance of the old.
Again, it’s amazing the audience singing with the vocalist. The seem to be an army of Genesis fans in Netherlands.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway: Rael appears on the picture, mouthless (the back-cover photo on the disk). The vocalist enters the stage grease-painted.
The guitar solo in Fly On A Windshield is more impressive than the original part of Steve Hackett.

The bass-player (Petri Seijs) plays with his fingers, not with a plectron, the keyboardist is on backing-vocals. Cuckoo Cuckoon and In The Cage – here the guitarist inserted his own tremendous passage, that resulted in improvement (could it be better?!!) The synthesizer solo is above praise.
The audience explodes with applause. The spectators are respectable, all standing right by the stage, no security service is in sight. The show takes place in De Boerderij hall in Zoetermeer, recorded with 7 digital cameras (one of them obviously acted up, for the picture sometimes gave “squares” effects). The hall also held the concerts of Saga and Wishbone Ash.

The show goes on with One For The Vine, everything is wonderful, right up to the falsetto vocal part “Follow me…” Charlie did his best and strained himself but failed to sustain it. (It happens. Gabriel also flunked on Genesis Live 1973, and Fish – on Jigsaw).
The instrumental part was superb! I hardly could believe the vocal part is so difficult in this song.

Cinema Show – the keyboardist armed with an acoustic guitar, starts to shed magic tune. An interesting observation: Gabriel’s vocals are easy to deal with for Charlie!
The guitarist inserted a nice passage once again! Unable to check myself, I admire the keyboards performance. Superb, first rate!

Watcher of the Skies – can’t believe it! It’s genuine Genesis!
Obviously it was after the break, the musicians enter the stage, Charlie appears dressed as a batman, with eyes gleaming in darkness.
The variety of keyboards palette nowadays is incredible. The sound engineer failed on this piece, the drums are too loud. The performance is very good.

Get’em Out By Friday (Foxtrot) – Charlie easily deals with the falsetto part.
Who’s Who? – it’s an acquaintance with the musicians, they say the drummer took part in one of Frank Zappa’s projects. Somebody’s (guitarist’s) wife is quick with child (9th month).
The keyboardist was named mastermind and the motive force of Genesis Project (I didn’t mistake). (He’d better play bass – he’s as tall and thin as Rutherford).

Blood On The Horizons – excellent acoustic solo by Rob. The audience explodes.

At last, Supper’s Ready.
The intro is dazzling.
Very good.
Are there gonna be masks and exquisite suits?
How will they manage Apocalypse 9/8?
Then starts The Guaranteed Eternal. After its brilliant performance (the great Genesis did this episode worse, with Collins) I got sure Apocalypse will be done alright!
H-mm, the guitarist gave zest Ircaton and Itsacon with a metallic riff. Superb, nothing more to say!
The singer leaves the scene and reappears with a flower mask (the flower is two times smaller than Gabriel’s). The guitar sound is altered, not in the best way. (The screen shows real Genesis).
So let’s turn our views and ears to Apocalypse!
The part with vocal was more successful than the instrumental one. First, they slowed down, second, the drums are out of rhythm, simplified.
Then Gabriel.. sorry, Charlie enters the stage, in a black raincoat, with an exotic sort of cube on the head and saves the day. The further pieces were alright.
The show is over, the audience is not intended to part with the band.

Encore is Dance On A Volcano, the performance is very good, again with Charlie stepping the bass pedal. The sound is incomparable! If you close your eyes, you can here Genesis REUNITED! A huge melotrone!!!
The singer starts to smoke and sings with the lighted cigarette.

The closing piece is Los Endos, with a lengthy drum solo in the beginnig, everything is brilliant and wonderful as usually.
This DVD is recommended to every true fan of Genesis. I took a delight in watching the show, as if I attended the real concert of Genesis. The disk is a must-have in every fan’s collection.

The emotions overflow. Thank you lads for you gave the opportunity to plunge into the great epoch of the 70’s, bowing low with respect to you!
